Gupta called upon GAIL employees to actively participate in the campaign and contribute towards strengthening a culture of transparency and accountability across the organisation.

He emphasised that preventive vigilance should not be viewed merely as a formal compliance requirement. Instead, it is a strategic and proactive mechanism to strengthen organisational processes, minimise risks, prevent irregularities and promote good governance.

Five Key Focus Areas of Preventive Vigilance Campaign

During the three-month campaign, GAIL will focus on five major areas:

  • Disposal of complaints
  • Disposal of cases
  • Capacity-building programmes
  • Digital initiatives
  • Contract management

A range of activities will be organised across GAIL offices and project locations to strengthen these areas. These will include workshops, awareness programmes, training sessions and employee engagement activities.

The campaign is aimed at encouraging employees to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in organisational processes and adopt preventive measures to address them effectively.

Strengthening Transparency and Good Governance at GAIL

The Preventive Vigilance Campaign 2026 is part of GAIL’s broader efforts to promote ethical practices, transparency and accountability in its operations. By focusing on preventive measures rather than merely addressing irregularities after they occur, the organisation aims to strengthen internal processes and improve operational efficiency.

The campaign will run until November 16, providing GAIL employees across its offices and project locations an opportunity to participate in activities designed to enhance awareness about vigilance, ethics and responsible decision-making.
